It seems that internalised oppression is a factor. They agree with what the dominant race (white) view as beautiful - these black men with their black skin, nappy head and large lips. They do not want to be reminded of their black skin, and african facial features. They do not want to look at a black face that is just like theirs. So they are in awe of pale skin. They think that if she's Latino its not so bad, cos "she aint white" They are fascinated with pale skin. Its a shame. Won't make them any less black. They black. Aint no amount of drooling over skin that contains very little or no melanin gonna change that.

I can't understand where all of you are coming off. I'm a big Vida fan, me and a lot of black men just like her 'cos she has a beautiful butt and that's it. She's popular and she sells magazines. We're not on some "white is better then everything else" bullsh*t.

Nothing wrong with being a Vida fan, and her beautiful ass, but why is she on the cover of black men hailed as the most sexiest woman of the year? In a world where black people are struggling for any form of status we continue to sell ourselves out to glorify whites at every public level possible. It wouldnt be so bad if it didnt mirror a disturbing amount of black men displaying that "white is better than everything else" and such "bullsh*t" walking around my and your home town.
doubt anyone would really care if the rate of black men tossing aside black women for white women wasnt so damn high, for example my liking of wenthworth miller because he has beautiful eyes and is just plain sexy may be a shock to my black male friends but is quickly forgotten as it isnt a real reality to them everywhere they turn. I am a drop in the ocean, there are plenty more of me where i came from- i am no loss
whereas black women are constantly reminded every day that black men are swept away by white women and the cheek of all is to say a white woman is the sexiest woman in the world by a BLACK MANS magazine, are we invisible?...now all of these men couldnt have just fallen for a white woman out of the blue, or grown up in a remote part of Wales, it has to be deeper you do not just grow up thinking women of a different race are your obvious match, people are mainly attracted to people who look like them ... but black men are largely attracted to white women. That is not normal. Now the question is why are quite so many black allowing themselves to be manipulated against black women for reasons other than *true* attraction or *real* love

You're bleating on about how 'black' men the world over have a total disdain for their own kind and have a strong affinity for white women, yet you're justisfying your own attraction for non African men because you're a "drop in the ocean" as you say?

No Prince, I'm using him as an example as to try and make you see things from a females perspective. As I guessed the poster i was responding to Jibstar could not understand where the female posters were coming from, I used miller as an example to show that some black women too find beauty in non black men, however this is no reason for some of us to find a preference in them, and also that not all black women are unreasonable or should be viewed as such on matters of IR or watever we are discussing here.
let me clarify my stance, I don not think IR is wrong, there is nothing bad about attraction to people of different races, as long as the reasons are right. My man who said he is a big Vida fan because she is nice is under no fire, as I should not be either for liking Europeanised Wenthworth Miller. I will never justify that to no one the man is beautiful, end of.
However
Liking white women because you have a "distain" for black women or are warped into believing black women are lesser is wrong- that is my problem, and i conclude that this has something to do with black mens infatuation with pink skin because the examples are just too great, the volume is too high and consistent for it to be examples of genuine attraction or genuine love.
now a black woman fancying a non black man, may be a shock because it is not so common to see black females dating non black males, doesnt mean its automatically, without considering her motivation- as long as tons of black chicks dont start turning away from black men, to the point of riducle and stereotype of a preference towards white/ non black men by the viewing public. people are free to love or like whoever, but my problem is the way and the reasons why it is done.

image if black women started doing the same, and not to point fingers BTW- but what a spectacle jeez. Anyway to come back to my point, this mag is just another handful of salt in the wound. I do believe that there is nothing wrong in finding beauty in non black women. Women of all races are beautiful. Vida Guerra is a beautiful woman. It just seems as though black women are invisible to some black men.
Black women need to stop this "are we to blame" load of crap. Apportioning blame on themselves is exactly what black men want to hear. Only women lacking in the brain department would actually entertain this fallacy. Develop a bit of back bone and get these men to look into themselves, if you really want to know why. We are all responsible for whatever preference we express and the choices that we make. The whole black female population cannot be held accountable for the preferences that black men express.
