And I highly doubt if she did. It's usually black men clinging to white women that foam at the mouth observing black women who are not alone. Many white women even talk about black men not being able to enjoy themselves once they spot black women with nonblack men.

Well, I'm a British born, Nigerian sister. In the past, I have dated a couple of Nigerian men, an Ivorian man and a British-born Grenadan man. I have never dated a white man and although I find some white men attractive, I generally find black men more alluring, especially educated West Africans. My West African boyfriends have had many attractive attributes, such as a sense of responsibility towards their family (especially if they're back home), a dedication to self-improvement and progress (even in the face of adversity) and a calm, amiable demeanour.
However, with my two longest relationships, which were with a Nigerian man (a year and a half) and an Ivorian (almost seven years), they both also displayed the unedible characteristic of self-centredness and arrogance. But they wouldn't be like this around other people - just me! I've chosen to call this behaviour the 'African man superiority complex'! Basically, they behaved in such a way as to suggest that as a woman (I have not preceded this with the word 'black', because I have not seen enough of an African man's interaction with a white woman first hand, to assume that she would be treated better!), I should expect and accept that their needs are considerably more important than my own and indeed that their needs were to be tended to! It was O.K. for them to be stingy (e.g not wanting to take me out or go anywhere), whilst proclaiming that it was my duty to do the cooking (even though I was working 5 days a week), while they simply put their feet up! An understanding of a woman's need for emotional fulfilment was woefully lacking & if I was to react negatively to belittlement (e.g. by crying or shouting), it still wouldn't click that i was being treated disrespectfully!
So, it may be that if black women are preferring to go with white men, it's because they believe they will be treated better.
I have attempted to cut a long story short (!) But, I wonder if any other women can identify with this. I have often pondered whether it is simply a culture clash (I've lived in Britain for most of my life), a lack of understanding (perhaps on both our sides) or whether the African born man would treat a white woman better. Is there a sub-conscious perception that white women are superior, and therefore should be treated nicely? Does the 'African man have a superiority complex, specifically in relation to black women?

No black women are not supportive of black man especially in defense of white men's attack. Like i've said before, you only have to search on these forums to see that, yet you find black men attacking white men and white women in defense of the black woman. They seems too scared to rock the white boat but when it comes to perpetuating the stereotype and cussing the black man, they are not short of worlds. They seem to also would like the black man to share the white man's crimes too. How many times had we have to fend off some female trying to slot us in the same pedophile groove? I have even heard on talk shows these women ask the question. "why do men go out get drunk,come home and beat their wives"? Just today on the Venessa b**ch er...Feltz show, everyone got talking about Harlesden, where some female came on saying "She would not bring up her children there because big men approach kids...er for ..erm.. drug dealings and gun crime" then she added, "in the same way pedophiles approach kids" You almost got the impression from her stuttering that she was trying hard to say for sex, but had to settle instead for something closer to the truth, but not satisfied with that, threw in the pedo bit in the end.

Man i thought i was the only one experiencing this sh*t. I used to catch the silver link along with this new very good looking polish girl that worked where I worked. Now get this. Usually I travel alone and if a black girl come on the train they make sure they Kiss their teet and walk to the opposite end of the carriage and sit with their backs turned, every single time. Once i sat next to these black girls with babies that started looking at each other like why the hell i sat there. Then one day this polish girl made it a point to start talking, suddenly we had a black girl sitting adjacent to her one sitting next to me with her ears open and one sitting adjacent to her. Man! i have never being surrounded by so many sisters on the train before.
What really amaze though is how blatent they are with it, it's embarrassing.
I think the Polish girl realized because she then asked me out to the cinama with a look on her face that said lets have a dig at them.

Nice to make your acquaintance, and welcome to the Board. You posed a very salient question,imo. The answer, as far as I'm concerned is YES, in some situations. I believe that there are some Black men who do have an superiority complex as it relates to Black women. That really shouldn't be a shocker when you consider that Black women are "double zeros", when it comes to most Western societies,(and some not so Western societies, who can hardly separate their own sh*t from the white man's sh*t,anymore). Black people are devalued and women are devalued, so someone who falls into BOTH categories(that would be us Black women), is necessarily going to be coming up very short. BTW, this devaluing seeps into EVERYONE in a society, INCLUDING the people who are in the devalued group/groups. In othe words, (Black women often see themselves and other Black women as being less valuable,as well) Black men are devalued because they are Black in a world that devalues Blackness, but they derive value from being men, in a world that assigns value to being male. SOME of them, take that sh*t and run with it, and want to mistreat/subjugate Black women in the same way white men have subjugated/mistreated Black people. In other words, they can't be the REAL boss like Mr. CHarlie, so they content themselves with being junior/play boss, by playing big shot/running roughshod/"feeling superior" over Black women. Too scared to swim with the sharks, but dont' mind playing the shark "ROLE" among guppies and goldfish,lol. Think "MIster" in the Color PUrple. He treated Celie like sh*t(like he was the master and she was the slave, damn near), but whenever the white postman would come around, or any other white man, he'd kiss his ass to the high heavens-yes sir, no sir, 3 bags full,sir,lol. A lot of bros got their noses bent out of shape over that character/movie, but that character was based on some REAL, sh*t, particularly as it relates to the post slavery South, in AMerica. As someone with roots in that part of the country, and who currently lives in that part of the country, I CAN SAY THAT with authority.
NOw having said that, there are ALSO some bros who treat white women like sh*t TOO,lol. They are equal opportunity assholes,lol. Nuff white women have found that out the hard way,after arrogantly thinking that they would be immune to such treatment. NOt understanding that some Black men deal with white women precisely BECAUSE they feel they can more easily mistreat them. Why would a black woman think a white man is secretly better than a black man? For a black man to think that he must have issues of his own or low self-esteem, which is very sad.
