Mods please move this to the Games section as it's not allowing me to post a new topic there for some reason.
This is taken from a games fighting tournament. You need to watch it to the end:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS5peqApgUA&eurl=
This is a perfect example of what's called a 'parry', it's also probably one of the greatest comebacks you've ever seen.
It reminds me of the days we used to battle in Sega World, Trocadero and Hamleys in the West End back in the early to late 90s. I miss those times....

What makes this more crazy is that parrying is absolutely the hardest move you could ever do in a SF game, much less 15 times like this guy did. A parry takes a heck of a lot of time to practice and can only be done by a super skilled expert. In fact I've only ever seen it done once by my friend in Japan and even then it was a serious struggle.
For this guy Diago to do what he did took a lot of concentration, especially in a huge room with everybody cheering on. Plus that was the best comeback I've EVER seen, because dude's bar was virtually empty and it would have been all over had Chun-li just swiped him with a feather.
It's a shame that arcades are pretty much non existant nowadays cos even though I love my consoles, it just ain't the same.
It's also a shame they don't hold these tournaments in england, but check out this site:

I'm sorry but Ken and Chun Li are the cheapest fighters in Street Fighter 3. Any other character and I'd be impressed.
I could take'em both. Seriously.

Sagat isn't in Street Fighter 3.....which is the far better game I might add.

That Comeback was so genius it almost looked scripted, the way Ken had the most marga piece of life and cameback so spectacularly, that was like watching a made for TV movie.
I personally use Ryu when i play but i haven't played any SF games for ages, last one i had was Capcom vs Snk which isn't even a street fighter game
I presonally play Dead Or Alive more now. That's more my game
But i've beeb slipping because i haven't got an X-box and all the newer versions only come out on that rather than the playstation 2.

| That was so serious, I really got into that, while I usually do play with Chun Li or Ryu as I'm not a big fan of playing with Ken, that Parry was brilliant, the player should be so proud.

| If they made this game into 3D for the PS3 with more moves and characters, I reckon it will even blow Tekken out the water! One of the best games ever but its showing its age now!

Not a chance. Tekken is in a genre of it's own. No 3D fighter will stand up to it unless it does something extremely revolutionary like Mortal Kombat VS Street Fighter or some extravegant nonsense of the like. Then there is the fact that Tekken has 7 games of 3D fighters in which time they have almost been able to perfect the fighting systems (there are still problems with button bashing characters like Eddy).
I would love to see Street Fighter create something truly revolutionary again but i doubt that is going to happen any time soon.
PS here are the shoddy trailers for Tekken 6. Although they are those perposely teasing trailers, it looks like Tekken is about to make No8 in their line of great fighting games.

Pah, Tekken. That game about memorizing combos, and doing juggles. Good game though.
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution is about pure skill, makes it the better game in my book.

Nah I disagree. Play the game on the hardest level and see if you can get away with that. There are serious issues with timing and movement when you play the game properly. Only children juggle when they play tekken. Hence I said problems with characters like Eddy Gordo and Christie Montiero. They are the No1 jugglers, they belong in a circus. Otherwise you have to learn a lot more than combo's and juggling.
I have never liked the virtua fighter series, I don't know why. I just prefer games like Soul calibur, Tekken, Street Fighter and some of the mortal kombat titles. Thing is I am good at every fighting game I play, I take the time to make sure of that but I just never found Virtua fighter interesting and so stopped playing it. When I buy my X Box 360 I will purchase one and see how it's progressed.
Does anyone remember Killer Instinct. Now that was a fighting game. What ever happened to that.

Trust me, speaking as an old skool game head, if SF came out with a brand new look people will be on its jock fast. I could see that happening. Tekken has excellent fighting but you don't get the extravagance of super fireballs or yoga flames.
SF will always hold a special place in many a gamer's heart because it CHANGED the gaming industry. They just need to modernise it.

You know what. You might be right. But for me because i'm younger it's about the later games. Nothing beats the first time I ever saw Akuma and did my first raging demon. That is an experience I will never forget.
By the way, did you ever play Rival Schools. That was a good 3D game and should have been more widely publicised because it got left really on the back burner.

I never liked the 3d games as much as the 2d ones. The "fun" factor wasn't there as much even though they visually looked impressive. SF back in the day was like a social ritual, more so than even pro-evo is these days.
SF series lost it when they stretched the screen upwards and put ridicolous super moves in.
