Does anyone have trouble sleeping???
I don't fall asleep till 3/4 ish every night and then have get up at 7.30am to go to work. I've realised that it usually happens alot from November time til summer starts.
I feel crap in the mornings but about 5pm i start to wake up and then the cycle starts again.
I've been taking Nytol now, don't want to go to the doc's.
Does anyone have or had this problem? Got any solutions?!?!?!?

| Yeah I'm a certified insomniac, and it doesn't help that I work shifts. I also tend to go bed really late and wake up early, and if I sleep in the day I definitely can't sleep at night. Don't take Nytol or anything like that cos as soon as u come off it ur body will be in a worse state than it is now. You have to re-educate urself and get into a routine. Eating certain foods will help with the imbalance u have in ur body, u will have to research to find out what foods will help u sleep better. You will also have to put urself to bed at the same time every night, that will be difficult because u won't necessarily feel tired or want to sleep but u have to do it. If ur still awake after 30-60mins read a book, drink some herbal tea or listen to some calming relaxing music. Take it a step at a time and see if there are any improvements. Good luck.

I usually just need 4-5 hours sleep a night and can function just fine next day. I take nightall only if i am very tired and really need to get 8 hours sleep, even then i have to take it at least two hours before bed time for it to work on me.
If i go to bed and i find that i can't sleep, i'll just get up, make myself some earl grey tea with honey and put on the tv and believe it or not 30 minutes or so later i would just fall a sleep naturally.

| sleep is a weird thing because sometimes I will sleep for 5 or six hours and feel great when I wake up and other times I could sleep from 11-8 and feel like crap when I wake up. But 3-4 hours i'm sure is not long enough. I think you should talk to your doctor because it will catch up with you sooner or later. Sleep deprivation can turn you nuts!!! sleep is an important part of my life. i make sure to get at least 7 hours a night. i'm usually asleep by midnight and up at 8. getting a good amount of sleep keeps you healthy.
the only tips i have heard are to go to try and go to bed at the same time each night and get up the same time each morning (even weekends). drink warm milk at night. don't watch tv in bed (it stimulates the brain so it can't prepare for sleep). use lavender (put some drops on your pillow). Have a warm bath. Eat well and don't eat late at night.
if it really is a problem, i would recommend going to the doctors. or try looking around on the internet for additional advice.

I too do nightshift.
The way to switch back into daytime mode is to miss a nights sleep. Dont try to force the body clock but attempting to sleep, deny yourself the sleep you need for one day and then you will need it and fall into it the next day.
Works for me.
