Hey

Im not a dentist - but I think you should keep ur own teeth and go with the braces.  They dont even have to be made of metal at the moment - you can get ceramic ones that match the colour of your teeth and so they barely show.

Bridges work but unless you pay really good money, they are going to look fake, especially if its ur front teeth ur talking about.  How long you'll need to keep them in for depends on what you want to change.

I have a removable brace in at the moment to fix the position of one tooth and my orthodontist thinks it will be finished in a few months (Thats 6 months in total) - but some corrections can take a few years - every individual is different.

Have a look at that link for more information on braces

http://www.dentalhealth.org.uk/faqs/leafletdetail.php?LeafletID=10

And the above link has info on bridges which are a much more extreme option and you may have to wear a denture while the gum heals from the tooth extraction.  I dont know how old you are but in young people dentures should be a last resort.

Hope this helps you out!

To be honest braces are your best bet, I had braces years ago and I had teribble teeth, yanno rabbit teeth, gaps and all sorts and I have a 'small mouth', I needed to where them for 2 years if you have only  gap then it shouldnt take too long.  Ask for non nickel braces or something you will see quicker results.
Do not get your 2 teeth taken out, it is likely that it will flatten your face and make things slightly awkward, unless you have 65 teeth or something. I for example was meant to have four teeth taken out but I refused because my cheeks would have gone in!
Seek other alternatives...

Thank for yr advice, i am still confused, part of me wants to wear braces, but i am thinking about the nickel allergy. I reallY want my teeth to be straight, but it is going to take so long. the bridge sounds like a good idea as well, but that means they have to take my front teeth out. my gap is really wide.
