i wont to get to grips with my sweet tooth
i thouight maybe if i keep a food diary and just try swap my sweet bites for fresh fruit more often.
does a diary help

Yes a food diary helps loads.
try to write down everything you eat in one week. and the times you ate them.
then you can look back and make adjustments.

depends on what time
i try not too eat too late at night where possible
i just assume late night eating just sits heavy on the stomach and depending on what it is yo get a bad belly in the morning
my one habit hard to break besides my sweet tooth is breakfast i just havent got the time. sometimes i will by toast at work and a hot drink but not always garunteed

im officially starting my food diary tomorrow.
i let slip at work that i want to eat healthier
my team are health freaks they go gym before or after work and eat healthy
then there is me...tho they do remind me i want to eat healthy and suggest tips like increasing water intake
i have changed my usual ribena to a sugar free robinson cordial which i mix with water. bonus saves money
BP... i take it the things to write down are what i eat times of day i eat. should i write down my emotional state. i dont think i eat with my emotions. at work its pure bordeom when im out shopping its quick cheap and cheerful
this diary might put me off eating

I wouldnt bother with emotional state....thats a copout excuse women use when they wanna eat like pigs.
just stick to the times...and what you ate..and amounts. (small med large) when required.

shiit i almost forgot...I know this sound obvious but remeber to put in what you drink aswell.
some people forget to mention that they kill 2 bottles of wine a night (or a pack of beer)

i only kept the diary for a week, it became tedious writing down everything
however
i found that i am only eating one set meal a day and various times but i do get my fluids in. i snack alot
this year i have cut down on snacking but also i must occupy my time so i dont think to snack
my aim is to lose 3-4 stones, 1st aim 1 stone but most importantly get exercise in
was watching diet doctors on 5life sky 209 and just a little bit of exercise makes a world of difference

sunday....1400 doritos 1500 mars bar......1600 rice n peas, chicken steamed cabbage carrots roast potatoe blackcurrent drink............1800 blackcurrent drink......2000 2 slice of toast 0114 juice
monday....1000 honey and ginger tea with 1tsp brown sugar....1200 4 slice toast flora and jam, fruit juice..........1800 steamed red snapper boiled dumplin yam potatoe fruit juice
tuesday...1000 4 slice toast fruit juice....1530 chicken flavoured super noodles...choc chip cookie...........1730homemade sweet n sour chicken with white rice tango.............2330 sweet n sour chicken rice juice
wednesday...1100 cup of tea.....1230 (work paid for lunch) prawn cocktail salad turkey green peas potatoes un recognised veg on plate..profiteroles j20 mango lemonade....1600 crunch creme buiscuit mini mars x2.....1800 bowl of frosties with semi skimmed milk....2000 juice

i tend to eat the hash brown roll thing alot, its becoming my staple at work, i used have veggie sausage in a roll but they started tasting sickly.
this is not a regular list because my food changes week to week
tuesday is not my typical as i usually finish work late at night so eating my normal meal then can be the norm
so bnv nutritionist BP et al what say you
i know breakfast and those snacks lack of the 5 a day menu

Before going to the gym, the personal trainer there ask me to keep a diary of everything that went down my throat, except oxygen.
The one thing that I did discovered was the amount of crap that I was eating. Secondly the lack of my water intake was shocking as well.
I think doing this is a good way of self analysis of your eating habits.
Some good advice from BP there as well. I've also starting drinking plain water as if there's no tomorrow. At least 2 to 3 litres a day. Sometimes the body gives signals that its hungry when in fact you're actually thirsty.
