Invest in George Forman griller and grill everything you eat . When at work have a roast chicken salad rather than a sandwich from Subway. For dresser only use light mayo if you must, load the container with everything but sweet corn and gherkin as its high in salt content which makes you retain water. Calories - 400
Also if you must use sweetener in your tea and coffee just use honey at least you get some benefits out of it. Be aware that a tea spoon of honey has around 50 calories so if your intention is to loose weight then you'll need to cut your intake of hot drinks or learn to drink it unsweetened.
For breakfast a large glass of delicious carrot juice (with a bit of ginger), a banana and an apple, and if you are still hungry you can either have two slices of brown toast with jam (no butter), plenty water or you could go for more nutritious and delicious snacks like sesame snaps which is rumored to have cholesterol reducing benefits among many other.
Sesame snaps contains around 180 calories.
One of my favourite most nutritious, delicious food has to be lentil.......... lentil soup, lentil cake or even as a stew great stuff...... Very filling, very nutritious, practically no fat and absolutely delicious.
Just make a big pot of lentil soup, put it in the fridge and when you get hungry warm a bowl and enjoy it alone or with a slice of brown bread.
I absolutely love lentils and how light it feels inside you. When I was a kid my mum used to make lentil cakes four times a week and sesame seed cakes the remaining days for our tea time snack (she still does). I think more people need to introduce this very simple things to their daily diet rather than crisps and chocolate.
You don’t need to starve your self to loose weight just choose nutritious alternatives with good fat and have several small meals rather three big meals.
For exercise take advantage of the good weather and walk to and from work. If the distance isn’t long enough you could always use your lunch break to also do more walking, take the stairs , walk faster and don't forget plenty bed sports .

I have one and cook with it mostly. But at first it will scare you senseless when you see the fat dripping off stuff you would have normally eaten.

Cut out grease - if you've ever cleaned a cooker extractor imagine what all that grime is doing to your insides.
Started cooking for myself this year (new years res.), for the money I was spending at the west indian take away I just wasn't getting enugh freshly cooked hot dinners. Amazing what it does for your overall fitness and stamina.
I'm quite glutton by nature and binge eat on confectionery - disciplining myself to cut all of that out, biscuits and chocolate especially. Though I did treat myself to five doughnuts recently.

My mum has the grill and she swears by it.
Do people really count calories in everything they eat?
*btw make sure you eat breakfast, have bigger lunches and smaller dinners. Your lunch should actually be your main meal (i.e chicken or fish with a very large salad).

| I don't have any discipline right now. Maybe it's the heat, but for the past few weeks I've been feeling peckish.

| That's strange because I can't eat at all. I have no appetite. Everytime I sit down in front of food I think... It's damn hot man! I just wanna sip water and nibble something small.

For some strange reason it only happens at night. I drink literally gallons of water during the day and hardly have a desire for anything else, then come night time I'm snacking away at all kinds of things.
Tomorrow I'm going fruit shopping, cos all these cakes and whatnot ain't good.

BB - yes...I'm afraid I ate the last one as well
LadyDay - eating many small quantities is better than eating fewer big ones.

I was told we are supposed to eat 5 small(ish) meals a day, not 3 big ones. And that lunch should be the biggest...so that would be the 3rd meal being the biggest and the last meal (5th) being the smallest.

BB - I find fewer smaller meals are better for the digestive system which in turn makes you healthier. Problem I find is when I'm at the office or on site it's pure junk available from vending machines - I can't snack on those sandwiches like my white colleagues seem to be able to. Nothing worse than eating something only to feel like you haven't eaten - for the record that's the reason why I haven't been back to a Thai restaurant
I can't do dairy and anything with white flour seems to block my guts. Now you know why them doughnuts were so naughty of me and the other white flour vice is using a fried dumpling to wipe up your curry goat and devouring it. There are some meals I'm willing to accept the consequences with
But ultimately I find a cooked meal hot off the fire counteracts any adversities - guess my biggest mistake was thinking the wife would be catering for me in that department Reheats (especially microwaved) should be kept to a minimum as well. In fact forget microwaving altogether. Even when I buy from my take away, they know me now but my first question is have they got anything that doesn't need heating up. I'd even take a lukewarm dish over reheating.
You are nothing wthout your health - he who seeks of only wealth and cares not for his physical health shall fade away!!

There are so many foods that I cannot eat Incog. it's beyond ridiculous. Some days I just want to cry, because it is so hard to buy non-crap food in this country. I cannot eat wheat (so all bread, cakes with wheat are a no-no)...wholemeal bread is ok, but it is better for me to eat wheat-free bread. I cannot eat potatoes, yoghurt, cheese, bananas red meat (only on special occasions) nor can I drink dairy milk. Basically anything white and/or sticky
I love food and most of my favourite foods are in that list so I struggle-especially at lunch time. But if I don't follow it for the majority of the time I will suffer (pain and bloatedness for weeks).
