Western governments spend millions marketing, advertising and subsidising milk products. Always praising its apparent health benefits? But do you know why?........................

Here is why. Milk contains lactose and the human body needs lactase to digest it. But as young people grow up into adults the production of lactase stops, and they are then unable to digest lactose. That is the reason why children are weaned.

Western people are unique in that they continue to produce lactase into adulthood. But 90% of black people cannot digest Lactose, and most adults in the world are also lactose-intolerant, whilst 88% of Western europeans are able to digest it. SOURCE

Thats makes milk a health disaster for black people. In simple terms milk can cause anemia, allergies, & diabetes and it will set kids up for obesity and heart disease - the number one cause of death. Milk  protein also is contained in casein--which is also a raw material for commercial glue. But undigested, casein simply sticks to the intestinal walls and blocks nutrient absorption.

The bottomline is that MILK is bad for your health!

Some facts:
-Harvard studies show an increase in osteoporosis and bone-breakage in people who consume milk.

-Governments declare that milk is essential to good health, subsidizes the milk industry to the tune of billions of dollars

-The USA continues to require that school lunch programs include milk with every meal

-There is also a direct link between milk consumption and prostate cancer among African Americans, who have the highest incidence of this disease in the world.

-Sixty percent of ear infections in kids under six years of age are milk-induced

-milk consumption is the number one cause of iron-deficiency anemia in infants today according to the American Association of Pediatrics.

Great. Thanks.

Since its summer you might want to emphasis ice cream and maybe cheese a little more.

I dont see to many of us drinking milk as a beverage as much as a breakfast with cereal.

A study like that would settle things for a great many of us.

That's ok then. I cant drink dairy milk anyways-though I prefer the taste to any other milk (maybe because I'm used to it).

I don't like Soya milk and Almond milk is a bit..weird. I have yet to try Rice milk.

Considering that mothers milk contains approx. 20% protein and cows milk (built for 300 pound calves) has 80% protein it makes sense.

Milk is a laxative to me anyway.

Nightz,

I share the words of the poster thnay Sir has put on here. I find it strange that they can say milk is bad for you. It's only bad if, like you mentioned, is lactose intolerant or if you have allergies to milk. It' seems that every minute, Western medical experts are telling us that this is bad for you and that is bad you. I no longer trust what they say. There have been people who have been drinking milk for years and never became diabetic.  At one point they said that too much sugar can cause diabetes, now they are " contradicting" their statement. They tell us that homeade remedies are no good and to use the medicines they dish out.I cannot trust their words because they are confused and with they many cures they have for us are killing us. Look on TV about some kind wonder drug they introduce to us , but yet they will tell about the life threatening affects about them and with many of the drugs that they research that scientist conduct on them aren't as timely and thorough as in years past.

If there is anything I have noticed about Western food products is that once we started to put all of these bad chemicals in the food that is when we started to see all of these mysterious illnesses pop up and long with the chemicals is all the junk food that are in our country. I think about this recent finding ----a fact. about the meat that are in our stores. I was looking at an investigative report about our goverment is using carbon monoxide to make unfresh brownish meat look fresh? Some stores like Wal-mart refuse to sell because of it, but they are worried about milk?I think the best hting for all of us to do is to continue to eat what we always eat( in moderation and if you'r enot allergic to them) and not think about them. People have been eating/drinking some of these bad foods and are in far better health than some of people who listen to the contradictiry advice of the so called medical experts

I can't take milk,( Mansamusa I feel you on the laxative front) I'm still looking for alternatives, tried goat milk, tasted too much like a farm, my rice milk got ruined (because a family member made rice pudding with it and decided to add milk to it as it was too 'watery') I've got soya but yet to try it.

Rice milk is nice niceone.gif

The one I buy has a subtle hint of vanilla (all natural flavouring). It's good, I can have cereal again! ;)

Just in case BB doesnt reply, I dunno what that milk is called but you can get it in Holland and Barrett. You can get just about any milk alternative in there (haven't seen the oat one though).

Problem is, alot of people are allergic to it and don't even realise because the visible effects are minimal. For example, alot of people have dandruff or acne, but unless you get tested to see if you are reactive to milk, you would never think that milk might be the cause (it causes the above for me, I found out a couple of years ago [without a test]).

As mentioned in the article - "Harvard studies show an increase in osteoporosis and bone-breakage in people who consume milk".  Alot of people develop osteoporosis in their later years, its just something we associate with old age. Who would ever think that milk of all things would have a negative effect in our bones? After all, we get told all the time that milk is good for us and we need the calcium in milk to grow strong bones, blah blah blah.

So if studies are right then most, if not all black people are intolerant. I read another study that said that pretty much EVERYONE was intolerant to cows milk except people of scandinavian/netherlands/that part of Europe ancestry.

Read the same about SOYA milk, in that everyone is intolerant to it except people of Oriental lineage, and that it causes tumours and this that and the other.

I think there is an old thread on this, mebbe people should have a look. It's not that old, it's from this year.

Hi, sorry about my late response!

The brand is called 'Rice Dream' and you should be able to get it in any health food store (as someone else suggested):).

It comes in different flavours as well.

Well I finally got some on Tuesday, I bought the vanilla flavour as suggested by BlackBeauty-thanksniceone.gif and the lady in Holland and Barretts. It tastes ok, not bad at all, could get use to it as I did with Soya Milk. It's very light. They had 3 types of Rice Dream, the original for £1.59, R.D.with added calcium for £1.69 and vanilla for £1.89.

They also had Oat milk which I will try next, think it's £1.45

An_Advanced_SparkI can't really describe how rice milk tastes as I'm still getting used to it myself, but it's not a completely different taste/flavour, it has a milky taste, as I bought the vanilla flavour there was a vanilla after taste, it's very light/watery. You might want to try it in vanilla if your going to use it for cereal.

Sista girl you are welcome niceone.gif

AASpark like SistaGirl said rice milk is thinner than regular cows milk. The first time I tried it I thought it was unusual, but I didn't dislike it. After about the 3rd time I really liked the taste-it is quite difficult to describe though: slightly sweet taste, with a watery consitency (I guess).

I only use the one with a subtle vanilla flavour (and it is really subtle). I suggest you try it because everybody's taste is different.

That's what I thought at first. But once you get over the intial first taste (especially if you're used to the strong taste of dairy milk) it's really nice. It's actually the nicest version of milk. I like cow's milk but can't drink it, goat's milk does taste like farm (as someone else pointed out) and almond milk tastes too strange. I haven't tasted hazlenut milk, but I'm guessing it tastes similar to almond milk.

Hmmm in that case I may buy one small carton of rice milk and try it out.
