Is the key to losing weight more about exercise than food?

If someone was to cut out bad foods altogether but still skip meals and don't exercise, would that be ok for losing weight?

What do you mean by skip meals?

My understanding is that excercise alone won't result in substantial weightloss. For example, each excess pound of fat has 3500 calories and walking for one mile uses up 100 calories so you'd have to walk 35miles to lose 1lb. If you have weight in therms of stones to lose then cutting back on calories and eating "good" foods is the key in conjunction with exercise. That and lots and lots of water. Unless of course you're on a VLCD plan.

its never wise to skip meals...ill tell you why.

these "crash diets" ect act are rubbish reason being that as soon as you come off them the body goes into store mode and you will just pile the weight on again.

NEVER use another person's situation and compare it to yoursthis girl you're talking about is not YOU

...people have dfferent metabolisms...that allow them to perhaps eat things and not gain weight...

also the person is young..19 years old...and you say that she is very active.....

 

to lose weight......get a nutrition book..and find out which of the foods you are eating need to be reduced or cut out.....and which foods you should be eating.....

and try to do some kind of exercise 3 times a week......

She has high metabolism....

Just eat right and hit the gym.... you will be fine, don't push urself to the abosulte limit each session, you might not be able to maintain it over a long persiod..

 Yes.. but it doesn't mean she will never get fat... but it will just take a longer to

yep...diet industry is better hustle than illegal drug market....

it's designed to keep people trying and failing to lose weight..

 

that's why  I suggested you do research and design your own plan.....tailr made for your bodytype,age, lifestyle , and eating habits....

 

it's generally easier to follow one of those mass marketed programs or books...but not reallt more productive in the long term...

lifestyle change and true understanding of nutrition beats any fad diet..or "program"
