Is pork unhealthy?

The reason you have yet to come across any evidence to support
the above claims of pork being unhealthy is because they are not true. Please, I respectfully askt hat you request from the individuals making these claims that they provide the documented, scentific evidence for such claims.
The "worms" that they refer to is Trichinella spiralis a parasite that
causes trichinosis. It is a nematode of the small intestine of the pig.
Trichinosis is a disease of man and other animals caused by a tiny
parasitic worm, Trichinella spiralis. Humans may be infected by eating
"improperly cooked" meat of domestic pigs or occasionally the meat of wild
bears, wild pigs, or other animals such as horses. A number of wild animals
including raccoons, opossums, skunks, foxes and rodents are known to be
infected and serve as a reservoir of the disease. During the five year
period of 1986-1990, between 27 and 109 cases in humans per year were
reported in the United States. The number of human cases of trichinosis has
declined dramatically in the United States in the last 40 years. Some
investigators estimate that there are as many as 100,000 or more human
exposures per year in the United States but nearly all of these infections
are subclinical.
Some of the religious concerns with the eating of pork may be based on Old
Testament (O.T.) scripture (Leviticus 11:1-8), not New Testament scripture
(Acts 10:10-16). In O.T. times, pork was more readily infected with
Trichina, and not being able to always cook it to at least 160 degrees F
(72 degrees C.), the likelihood of becoming ill from Trichina infection was
high.
With today's pork, less than 1/2 of 1% of all pork in the
nation is infected with Trichina. And the USDA slaughter plant inspection
makes the likelihood of any Trichina infected pork getting into the market
place practically nil. And even then, cooking pork to 160 degrees F (72
degrees C) would kill any Trichina that might be present.

Because of modern feeding practices, the age-old fear of trichinosis is
unfounded today. Trichinae is a clinical rarity. It is a threat primarily
in wild game meat -- even in the highly unlikely event it were present,
trichinae is killed at 137 degrees F(58.4 degrees C). That's well below the
recommended doneness for pork, which is 160 degrees F (72 degrees C).

LOL - given a choice I will not eat pork but stayed in too many hotels on business and the breakfast bacon was kriss  - I would not feed it to my children though. Pigs do not descriminate which is why we should - my dad said he'd never eat pork after seeing a pig eating human corpse.

...sorry, but what does "kriss" mean? I have seen it used frequently here...
It means 'crisp', which is another way of saying 'really nice.'
eg. the guy was KRRRRISSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3) the pigs nature is not good, it eats its own pups, its ugly and the meat is nauseating
4) its slave food. to progress from slave mindset ditch slave food.
5) would you eat a fox?
6) the rind round the edges of the bacon is none other than PUS.
7) my mother and i were discussing this, she said in the bible it says "i give you all the beasts of the earth to eat" well, that was after adam and eve. man fell short of the glory of god and became as beasts in his eyes. so god gave man beasts to eat. you are what you eat.
8) to be the best, eat the best. the brain is full of chemicals and signals and if your putting the wrong chemical in your body, guess what?
9) theres no nutrition in the pig at all. now, during slavery, the european would eat the fatty part of the animal and left us the crap (foot bottom, tail, snout, tripe) but because we are a very very skillful people, we seasoned that stuff up and ting. NOW, i used to eat pig in abundance. 40 rashers in 3 days. i always felt tired.
10) The pig is a cross between a rat, cat and wolf.
Look at it and seriously consider staying away from this foul animal.

It's no coincidene that world wide and especially outside the continent..that Black people have so many medical conditions rampant in our communities.....
Dietary habits...... play a large part in this.
there were times when we had no choice in what to eat...but now that we have free choice..we choose to eat thins that slowly destroy our bodies....
