You should probably have this talk with your doctor.  You can't predict where the weight will go.  If you're hips are narrow, then chances are that the bit of fat you gain will not end up there.  And if you don't want to end up with a big belly and narrow hips, then find out what body type you have before you begin to gain weight.  Also ask your doctor for safer means of gaining weight.

You could look at your mum and maternal aunts to see how the women distribute body weight in your family I suppose.  As somebody stated, simply eating lots won't be productive because you can't predict that it will go to your thighs like you want.  If your mama has thick thighs and slim waist though you might have some hope. 

Building up thighs I can only think to do swimming or cycling.  Not jogging, not jogging at all.  Jogging will give you a lean skinny shape you don't want.  You could do sprints and train that way but it's boring so I'd suggest swimming or cycling.  Squats with weights too.  That's what Ki-Toi does and look at her:) 

Don't eat fatty things but more potatos and rice and stuff.  Fat makes you tired if you eat loads of it.

I also had this problem.  I can eat a ton of food, then lie down and go to sleep and I won't gain an ounce.  The best way to gain is by putting on mass.  That's what I did.  In the last year alone I have put on 17 pounds of muscle.  You will look a lot bigger than you actually are because of the way that muscle stands out.  Don't waste your money with those protein shakes and other crap.  Just eat full meals and exercise every other day.  Don't do running or a lot of aerobics.  That will just burn up all your mass.

Sure if you have the genes for skinnyness or fatness then you can't make yourself into the pictures on the front of health magazines but you CAN IMPROVE!  You can always improve.

Potatoes are carbs, carbs are good...

I agree with others trying to build up the muscle; lots of squats and lunges etc. About the running, it does tone...I mean don't you get that runner's booty lol, besides if I'm not mistaken you need to do cardio in order to make any other exercise work.

What ever you don't try eating before bed it makes you feel sick and generally will do no good, I think you also need a high protein diet but don't quote me on that and doughy food like hardo bread and fried dumplings give you a nice round booty!

As mentioned by Drunk Monkey and DarkNLovely, squats and lunges will make your hips, thighs, and buttocks bigger/fuller, especially if you eat proteins AND carbs.

I remembered when I was in high school, my former coach used to tell his football players to eat a lot of peanut butter and I never got why( After all some of these same guys DETESTED peanut butter). He said that peanut butter contains a lot of carbohydrates in it and in general carbohybrates can make you gani weight. If you're going to eat the carbs, make sure you have the veggies on the side as to much carbs isn't good for you. You may also want to make sure that you're not predeposed of being small. You want to make sure that you're being petite isn't a genetc thing. I know women who, like you, who are very petite. Some even have four or five kids or eat like there is no tommorow and they never gain weight,no matter how hard they try to gain their desired weight.
