OK, I know all the time people are asking for tips and advice on how to lose weight but my problem is the opposite. I want tips on how to gain weight. I used to be very self-conscious cos I felt I was too slim and wouldn't wear certain things (like sleeveless tshirts), but I'm over this now and wear whatever I want now (never shorts doh lol).
I think I probably have a really high metabolism cos I never seem to gain weight and its extremely annoying, maybe I'm eating the wrong things. When I ask people they tell me to buy loads of chicken and chips but I don't think this is very healthy to use as a plan t gain weight
I'm 6ft 1 and 10 and a half stone (67kg) by the way.
Can people please suggest diets for me, not just general random things like 'eat loads of chicken', preferably a structured breakfast, lunch, dinner type thing. (I know some people are gonna take the piss but please this ain't a joke yeah!).

| for proper advice you need your GP to refer you to a nutritionnist. S/He may also recomend some exercises you can do to build muscle. But it depends on what type of GP you have. Some may be really helpful. Others may just fob you off unless you are dangerously underweight.

How old are you?
You may simply have yet to fill out after a growth spurt.

@ Madam Butterfly
The thought of going to the GP hadn't occured to me cos I don't think the GP would see it as a problem, plus I don't really like going to the GP unless I'm actually ill. But I may consider doing that, I just though I would ask people on here first cos I'm sure there must be others who have the same problem.
@ En Sabar Nur
I'm 20. I dunno about the growth spurt thing cos I think I stopped growing a couple years ago (I could be wrong though).

Though your weight is not low enough to warrant a trip to the doctor (you are not dangerously thin) I can see how as a young man it would affect your self confidence.
Do you work out? The thing to do is hit heavy weights, very heavy so that you can only do a few though I would recommend talking to a personal trainer about a specific program. Swimming and rowing are good for buidling the shoulders and chest and giving you the makings of a V shape torso.
As for diet, you want to eat more staple foods, carbs not necessarily. 3 solid meals a day, no snacking because snacking cuts down on appetite come dinnertime and you want that big meal in you. Stuffing your face is not the point. You don't want to be fat obviously.

| just to clarify, i suggested True should visit his GP as a GP can put him in touch with a reputable nutritioist. A nutritionist will give him sound advice on what foods to eat to gain weight safely, as opposed to just filling up on junk food. whether or not you get the referal depends on the attitudes of your GP.

I don't work out at a gym, I just do little things like pushups, situps etc at home. I have been considering getting weights so I can weight train at home, but I need to put on more weight cos my muscle definition is alright (for me) at the moment, I just need to put on more weight for the muscles to be a little bigger. I'm not really looking to get huge muscles, to give an idea of my aim I wanna have the body type of say Nick Cannon not LL Cool J or 50.

| I've also got a very hicg metabolism and i workout for weight gain. I'm 6 2 and getting on to 13 stone. One thing you need to realise is that if you train for weight gain then you're already high metaolism will increase even more. But saying that weight training is the best way for people with high metabolism to gain weight. So if you decide to go down that route eat at least 5 good meals a day with no more than 3 hours in between, consisting predominantly of carbs but also protein. Oh and veg or you'll be at the toilet every 5 minutes.
