I spend about 30 mins on the treadmill, increasing the incline every minute.

I go on the stepping machine for about 20 mins.

I do leg curls, arms and thigh exercises 3 reps of 15 with 3 - 6 kgs and the rowing machine for  15 mins.

But I walk my dog everday and go to the park so I'm kinda always active.

I have got a diet plan from the gym booklet I was given. I cant be bothered to type everything out.

But I'm not allowed any rice or potatoes or nothing like that. Mainly vegetables with grilled chicken or tuna or sardines with 4 litres of water each day along with supplements and Udos oil etc. Or if I'm busy I make this whey protein shake I purchased.

Hey ebony goddess, first of all can I congratulate you on deciding to do something about your weight.

Well done for recognising you have a problem, for facing it and lastly doing something about it, I know its hard for someone of your size to go into a gym and I have so many friends and family who need to but just dont have the confidence. Im on a diet too, I weight just under 11stone and used to be 10 and my confidence has changed dramatically like i dont go out much socially anymore and im not wearing my usually sexy, skimmy tight clothes due to bulges. I used to go to the gym 3 times a week but since my gran died last year i havent been back and put on a massive stone. However as i said i have started going again and i go swimming once a week.

I think your exercise plan sounds great and so does your eating plan, but be sure to include plenty of fruit and veg, also i think may is a bit over enthusiastic, why not set it to summer, that way you wont set yourself up for disappointment and also if you do reach your goal for may it would be a bonus rather than a dissapointment. I got on the scales new years day and it said 11st 2. Big shock to my system, never been this heavy apart from being pregnant. So, just healthy food for me and a little treat in the evening as long as I`ve been good all day. I have started to go to the gym every day. Mon wed fri, 10 mins cross trainer, 15 minutes treadmill and 10 minutes bike with weights for my upper body as this is where all my fat is. My legs are as skinny as chicken legs! Tues and Thu I am just going to do the bike etc. 

Foodwise. breakfast porridge with semi skimmed milk or fruit smoothie or wholegrain brown bread with seeds etc with half avocado. Lunch lots of celery, peppers, cucumber. tomatoes, beetroot, with either half avocado, tuna, or salmon. Dinner will be fish or chicken with more cooked veg. All washed down with at least 2 litres of water a day.

Hopefully I will stick to this until I get back to my preferred weight of 10 stones. I need to somehow get back to my 30`s where I could eat and stay the same weight. Not liking this 40`s and having to watch what I eat and exercise!

Oh today. I went to my moms and the mutton and rice with plantain was just begging me to eat it and my mom, well she heaped my plate high. Didn`t finish it though so I had to get myself to the gym and not leave until I had burned off 400 calories. Next time I see her number I`m just going to let it go to answermachine..oh and I forgot about the soup that she cooked for me yesterday but I did go to the gym and went on the bikes etc.

Tomorrow is Monday and back to my healthy eating regime. Before my mom made those series of phone calls I had got to 10st 11.

Hi Ebony,

I  do not believe in dieting but I have changed my eating habits since mid Dec 05. I am not doing to badly. I try to steer away from wheat, refined sugars and salt. I eat more nut, seeds, dried fruit (unsulphured and unsweetened). I have days where I have struggled but its still early days. This week I will be starting at a gym 2-3 times a week. I will also be doing some gentle walking.

I wish you all the best, I know its not easy but please stay focused.

What is a Stone?  I'm not familiar with your English!  I'd glady take you up on your challenge.

I just started seriously exercising again.  My goal is to go from 230lbs (104kg) to 197lbs (90kg) by May 2006.

My plan includes exercising 4 times a week:

30 mins elyptical trainer
20 mins circuit training: Push-ups, crunches, military presses, legraises and dumbell training.
10 mins shadow boxing or the 8 min taebo tape!

In terms of dieting, I don't really bother.  Other than eating less carbs (cakes, noodles and other junk) I pretty much eat the same, only smaller portions.  I'm attempting to include more fruit into the dietary mix.

How do you propose to track the changes?

I'm 5ft5, used 2 weigh jus over 9 stone, but ppl were complainin (esp. my mum) my face looked sunken, i looked ill, collar an hip bones stickin out etc.  I put on nearly 2 stone over 2 years so now i'm apparently overweight, (that chart erm... BMI of summink) but i look great an i dont wanna lose no weight cos i like da way my batty looks in dem jeans an b4 i was a 34B now i'm a 36 D an i was a size 10 top 12 bottom now i'm a size 12 top 14 bottom an i like it so boy... i kno ppl dat weigh more than me an they got serious figures... like bangin hourglasses an ting.... i guess it depends on ur bone density an ur shape e.g apple or pear but if u wanna lose weight good luck i hope it goes well.

p.s try a detox like biofirm (from holland an barrat) for 2 or 4 weeks.... makes u feel real energetic an gets rid of toxins... if ur on it an u go in a steam room or sauna it helps purify ur body, get rid of all the junk etc.
