The mental health system here in the UK is still failing us black men.
The statistics show that black men are more likely to be diaognosed with a mental health disorder than any other cultural group. Why?
It is also fact that our young black men are particularly vulnerable to misdiagnosis and therefore being sectioned unfairly.
Back in 2003 the Gov. tried to introduce a new law, which would have meant black men could be sectioned simply for getting angry. Some experts believe this will still happen, although i cant see it . http://www.blink.org.uk/print.asp?key=2756
Somethings drastically wrong about all this?

Can we tackle it as a community? whats the answer?
Maybe it's white doctors mistaking cultural/traditional things in the wrong light, I don't know maybe things would improve if they understood blackmen better or had more black doctors. The mental health system makes me sick anyways, personally it has failed me many times.

Its true. They have their understanding of things for themselves and we need our own for ourselves. We have a totally diffrent background from these people and aren't the same. Even black doctors over here hae fallen into thinking that their ways are the best for us all when its not true. We come from a VERY spiritual background.
Also the doctors have a problem relating to us in general, for exampleI have been to one for a while now as I have scars and get headaches, the doctor reffered me to a hospitail where the doctor there was quick to pass the buck and not even look at my scars. I was too uncomfortable to really comment but it was ridiculous.
