Forget Donkey Mans - used to be good in it's day, now as everywhere else things have gone downhill (not going to state the obvious here). 
Try Sadacca on Satrudays (if there is a dance on it's not bad), Sounds play well, but D'Mans forget it.
TAKAPUNA - R&B - (dancehall I think)
Charles Street (if it stayed open - R&B Hip Hop
ICE BAR - full of slappas and Eastern Europeans lookin' a stay - but cheap and music can be quite good.

off key areas?
Trust me i didnt choose to go to Barnsley im being dragged kicking and screaming.(The things we do for our education)
They after a while they realise they on they own and start to miss us black folk
When every i come back to london i have to go through brixton to get home and i get over excited when i see black people i think you dont realise just how great it is to live in london until you leave it and go and see the rest of england.
cant get no seasonings for your food cant get no grease for you hair
I got that one covered ive got every possible spice u can buy up wid me trust whenever i go home for the weekend i come back wid twice as much stuff.My table is full of every possible hair product for just in case.
why bother? And im very much aware what it like to leave the comfort of black surrondings cause my uni is Yorkshire but it hasnt been so bad because when ure at uni u have as much holiday time as uni time plus i hold the record for the most trips home in a semester.Not to mention my uni is full of londoneres who feel the same way as me.
I TOO HAD THE NORTHERN EXPERIENCE. JUST RESIGN YOURSELF TO THE FACT THAT THERE WILL BE NO BLACKS OR IF THERE ARE THEY WILL BE OFFKEY ANYWAY. HOOK UP YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION, YOUR PHONE, TV, PLAY STATION (OR WHATVER GAME CONSOLE IS KICKING AROUND THESE DAYS), RADIO, KEEP YOUR CREDIT CARD WITH AMAZON CURRENT SO YOU CAN ORDER SOME BOOKS AND SAY HELLO TO YOUR NEW BEST FRIENDS.
ALSO DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU ARE TOO. IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS AND U R LIVING IN YORKSHIRE RIGHT NOW YOU CAN FIND FRIENDS IN WHATVER OFFKEY AREA YOU GO TO BELIVE ME. I TRIED TO BE FRIENDLY WITH THOSE NORTHERN M-F'S SOME OF THEM WHO HAD NEVER BEEN IN CONTACT WITH BLACK PEOPLE AND IT WAS ENTIRELY TOO MUCH FOR ME.I REALLY PREFER MY OWN COMPANY IN SOME SITUATIONS.
