| hey... I was just looking for some tips, advice, anything really about what to do, see and try while I'm in London. I'm a student here studying abroad and just wanna learn anything I can about this city. A lot of people have told me it's great...and not to sound rude but so far I don't see what's so amazing.

Lola.....London is an amalgamation of around 240 Villages......Most Londoners die and don't see half of London...... ........Kew Gardens is delightful for example......

You would be surprised at how many people think London is not that good, even crap. It can't compare to NY in many ways but also, people think it's too expensive, that londoners are rude, there's too much pollution, too much traffic and just not as good as NY. For me though, I love London!

if u have just come 2 london den go to some raves like 10 ROOMS MINISTRY OF SOUND SSSH ROOMS DER T HE BEST CLUBS IN LONDON I FINK ANYWAY AND THEN GO SEE THE LONDON EYE CANARY WHALF GO SHOPPING IN SELFRIDGES

As far as I could see, things are totally different.
You are comparing London to New York City I think that's a stretch.
First of all London is the capital of England like Washington DC (not NYC) is the capital of the United States.
Second, NYC is a city within a state within a country, London a city within a country (I think). Yet, NYC has about 15 mill folks and London about 7 mill (about the size of manhattan).
Third, you guys speak English, we just think we speak English, we actually speak American (many different languages put together).
NYer drive primarily large vehicles on the right side of the road, with steering wheels on the left side of the vehical, and the opposite is basically the case with you.
Look the liter v gallon and the pound v dollar think is unmistakable, just like the tea v coffee.
You have universal healthcare, New Yorkers (and the rest of america) has no such thing.
You have sky high taxes, we just have high taxes.
Your secondary education is essentially free, our is essentially fee.
Even the size of my shoe in your country is different.
Oh, by the way every single NYPD (New York City Police Department) police officer walking/driving around NYC has a semi-automatic gun that carries about 18 bullets within it, and two additional 18 bullet clips (in case the first 18 shots isn't enough) on his or her hip.
Now, I don't know about London, but NYC is basically full of non-smokers (smokers are a very small minority), what's it like over there?

............Gotta say...Which "County" is London in .......London is,simply,the major city in England....theres no "County" in between.......the nearest "Counties" are situated on the edge of London like Surrey/Kent/Middlesex/Hertfordshire and Essex.

Sorry to have to correct the guy who said London has 7 million compared to NY's 15 million.
First of all Metropolitan London in terms of area is over twice the size of metropolitan NY.
The method used to calculate populations vary but if the same method used to give NY 15 million were used on London (including suburbs) the figure rises from 7 million to 18 million. London is the largest, most populace city in Europe. In fact, in the western world ONLY NY offers any true comparison to it.
Having seen both, I can agree with the guy who said NY is like a cartoon version of London. It's just like London, only someone stretched all the buildings upwards.

Shopping: Oxford Street(central london) from Selfridges 2 footlocker.
Camden market(NW) & Portabello road(W) 4 VINTAGE CLOTHING/FUNKY CLOTHING
Brent Cross (NW) Shopping mall
Brixton market/Coldharbour Lane (South) A shop called the 'Real mckoy' sellin' urban clothes loadsa good meat/fish/veg stalls for those who like their black food.
Clubs: The Mass, Brixton. Fridge bar, Brixton.
Jazz Cafe,CAMDEN (NW)
Up an coming events:Respect Festival, Hackney, Victoria Park. Notting Hill Carnival
