thugnation213...You could try the Civil Rights movement, there is a wealth of information on it. Here is a link to get you started. Just go to the bottom of the page once you connect to the site. Good luck.

| yea the civil rights movement is a good one...if you want to do something more current and perhaps more interesting you could reasearch the formation of hip-hop. You could actually break your paper down into parts like...pioneers of hip-hop (talking about who started it all and how they did it)...how hip-hop has evolved (talking about how it's changed from the beginning....starting with the classics, into gansta rap, commercial hip hop)...talk about how it has transcended racial boundaries as well as cultural boundaries (many different people from around the world listen to it and have developed their own form) and conclude your reasearch with a section talking about how it's more than music (in this section you can talk about how it's become a culture and a way of life...you can go on to talk about the style of dress and the clothing lines that have formed...such as phat farm, sean john, babyphat, ecko, and so forth)

@thugnation, on top of the civil right movement( which i think would not only be very interesting, but also immensely educational to you about what our people had to go through so you can be free today), you could also do THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE. I did get quite a lot of information on Harlem Renaissance on GOOGLE search engine.
Then there is African American literature
And The emergence of African Amercan enterprises ect......
Look there is a lot of topics to cover on this, so my advice is flick through your unit or module guide, see what interests you and take a crack at it.
Good luck
