| How does cocaine get into the bloodstream by snorting it? Someone asked me and I was stumped for an answer.

Absorption through the membranes of the skin is another method that drug users can get the substances into the bloodstream. Users use this method when snorting drugs such as cocaine because the drug quickly passes through the mucous membranes in the nose into the bloodstream. One major problem with this is, the drug will cause irritation in the skin. Often people who frequently snort cocaine get frequent nosebleeds because the membranes become very fragile.

it's not just the act of snorting that gets the job done, its because the agent (coke) is a fine dust that lines the membrane then gets absorbed.
It won't happen with larger particles, or subtances that won't get absorbed, like dirt and paint.
But what did you have in mind?
