I live in West London and am desperately seeking employment as a typist in a legal firm (preferably with a firm specialising in criminal law) so does anyone out there know of any legal firms who are seeking staff?.

Thanks sooo much for your reply facetygal. The reason why I am seeking employment through this avenue is because this is how I started 25 years ago in the legal field. Agencies I am not keen on as they never give you what is advertised and from experience these jobs do not exist, it's just a ploy to get you into the office and onto their books.

MarcusGarveyLives: My thoughts exactly!!!. When I replied to facetygal's post I did state this but then I erased it as I did not want to get into any politics with any members on the BN Village who might start judging me as negative and small minded etc, but this is why I mentioned agencies, because they are known for it!.

I find that comment very negative and not the right attitude to help someone at all. It's got nothing to do with where a person does or doesn't come from, some young people use that excuse all the time as to why they are hustling on streets instead of workin the legitimate way and I don't buy that.

My last 3 jobs have all come from agencies, the companies I worked for are big reputable companies which I got put forward for within a week of registering. I'm currently lookin a job myself havin been made redundant and I've had agencies call me for work but it lacks 1 or 2 things that I'm personally looking for. Reed is a brilliant website and agency I'd say look at that above the others, also Pertemps specialises in secretarial work so you shouldn't have any probs there either.
I have just done another quick search and there are agencies specifically lookin for audio typists:

Again, thank you so much facetygal for your positive words and help, I will spend time searching those links. You have made me feel so much better in that I won't feel so opposed to agencies. I'm definitely getting in touch with Reed this week, I too recall good things about them from years back, thank you for reminding me about them.
Yes I really do believe in Jehovah so I will keep on knocking and I know he will answer. All the best to you too and hope you will eventually get what you are looking for. Thanks again xxx.

I think Jehovah's plan for me is to have a break, I finish work in 2 weeks and I'm just gonna kick back for a bit. Treat myself to a holiday and see what happens when I get back.

Yeah I was lookin to go abroad, but I think I might have to put that on the back burner. I got a job interview tomorrow found through a recruitment agency, and I've just been put forward for another job from a different recruitment agency. So fingers crossed
