We're looking for a new tv. Obviously Hubby is looking for some 2000" model, but I think we'll stick to something smaller!
Anyway, I keep seeing tv's on ebay. One in particular is a Toshiba 42" for £390!!!! It's rear projection, but I'm thinking for that price - hey! And it's "buy it now", as opposed to auction, so that's the price.
It comes with guarantee and warranty for a year. However, it doesn't say it's new - it says "graded", and "as new". I'd also be picking it up so I'll be able to see before I buy.
What do you think? Should we take a risk, or buy from Comet's auction site, or somewhere like Amazon?

however a mature lady at work said she checks ebay before she purchases most things to see if she can save money

Sorry Vezz I wished I'd seen this earlier to stop you buying a rear projection TV....the reason why its so cheap is that its vertually useless in bright light....I think you'll find that in summer with the windows open you won't be able to watch the damned thing except at nights...
I know this because when i went to Cambodia, the people i stayed with had a rear projection TV....it was a bloody nightmare..I just couldn't watch it..even with the curtains closed it was difficult i could only watch it at night for obvious reasons...that is why its so cheap!!!
