My partner and I plan to get married in Jamaica 2008, and have decided to go to Jamaica to do it. (Still never been, how shameful! )
I was wondering if anyone has been to a wedding abroad, and how they felt it went.
Has anyone here done a wedding abroad and got any tips for us?
We wanted to go with Sandals, but they won't have children attend as they are over 18years only (Got 10 children attending). So we have thought about Rose Hall in Montego Bay, as it seemed very family oriented, and is being refurbished currently, which will be finished this summer. Has anyone been to the hotel, or recommend any other hotel.
Any ideas, tips, idea's will be appreciated.
Cheers!

| Rose Hall is nice, however considering that it was the home of a evil slave owner I'm not sure that I would use it for MY wedding...however You could try the Jamaica grand in Oche Rio I've stayed there and it is bloody wicked in every sense and they do weddings there and have very good children facilities...

If I could turn the clocks back I would NOT have gotten married over here! Well done for planning to wed in JA.
I'm not too sure about Sandals though.....

Kunjufu: Thanks for your advice, I have looked on the internet Jamaica Grand, and come up with 'Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort'?! (hope thats the one you meant). It looks and sounds great!
ALL: We was thinking of going during the October half term as we have got children coming, and didn't want them to take time of school. Would it be best in the summer holidays, or October half term, in terms of weather .....
Sorry about all the question only been to caribbean in April, so I would be grateful for the all the advice as possible before we book it!
Cheers!x

Nat: yes that is the right Hotel, i've stayed there in fact in fact I was supposed to get married there, unfortunately I was unable to on that occassion..
However the hotel I can say from my two week stay, was great, food (proper jamican food all day), facilties top notch, its in town so you can enjoy jamaica properly without the hassle and the entertainment was second to none and i mean second to none...
You might want to reconsider the October dates..because traditionally its hurricane season for that region..so the is a higher risk of an alert....
