Hi guys can anyone help infom me about the celebration of Kwaanza, I have not heard much about it exept it is a week long festival generally celebrated in the States (I think)
However, the first time I heard about Kwaanza was that some Black people had started celebrating it over here (UK), and if I remember rightly this celebration went on for about a month.
Where did this festival originate?
What does this festival celebrate?
How is this festival celebrated?
Why is it celebrated in December?
Thank you

I went to a Kwaanza celebration last year at my old Uni, it was nice. There were speakers, they involved the kids, explained the principles around it-one of the principles is Imani which means faith, my future daughter-well if God blesses me with one will be called that.
Anyways, yeah its good to get involved, its a nice celebration.
