Ok me and the family wanna go to JA in april 07' to visit my grandparents but we're having trouble finding decent flight prices. I know it costs a fortune to fly anywhere in the carribean but surely we can get something cheaper than £750??!! Any help would be greatly appreciated folks.
Oh yeah, Air Jamaica is NOT an option!

sackville travel are based in brixton i think and they do good deals
virgin are expensive but thery have begun flying to ja
my aunty says that brit airways usually do offers may just need to look out for them
alternatively look for a small airline or a chartered flight if you wish to truly cut cost

SoulStarr: obviously you're not into Cricket..so you're ignorant of the fact that the West Indies are hosting the One day Cricket world cup next year from Early March to the end of April 2007....
This maybe one of the reasons you are struggling to find a cheap flight during that period, trust me nuff people will in the Carribean at that time..and I think you will be lucky to get a hotel never mind a bargian at that time...
just thought you might want to know this likkle tit bit lmao....

Dammit! Well luckily we don't need a hotel but I see why the flight thing might be a problem. Still, I'll keep searching just incase. And  to you for finding humour in my predicament!

@AAS- Damn right I know not to fly air JA! I don't know a single person who has arrived at their destination at the same time as their luggage after flying air JA

btw went I went to JA back in 2003..I flew JA Airways and to be honest they weren't bad.. In fact they were a damn sight better than the JOKE airline I went on a year later.....with Airtours.
Went I got to JA in 2004, this joke Airline had flown some poor passenger to Portugal to refuel and then took then to JA....21 hours their flight..and GET this they made us PAY for everything on the flight including water..water!!!! £1 bottle .....Air Ja never treated me that badly...

PORTUGAL???? Bloody hell.... I have to say jufu, you are the only person I have come accross that hasn't had a complaint about Air JA. When my grandparents flew with them last year they were mortified at the treatment they recieved. And a lady I worked with last year lost her luggage for three days (as did my granparents)! I mean how is it you put your luggage on the same flight your or travelling on yet still it takes THREE DAYS to reach you???? Madness!! Tis a sham though cos it would be nice to suppot a jamaican enterprise but not with that kind of service. I refuse!

my family use both british and jamaican airways
jamaica airways had a lateness issue ... but my aunty said since the governement took it over they have been ruinning on time and service improved.

I interested too, what is the best air line to go to jamaica on, I am considering Air Jamaica, Virgin and british airways, has anyone got anymore input...

Just a thought  I saw some postings a while ago on Ebay, people selling off their return tickets to Jamaica for peanuts, but I really dont trust Ebay so I would use it as a last resort and rather stick with an establishment you can hold accountable
