Ok I have a small dilema on my hands. My aunt (by aunt i mean my mums best friend that i've known since birth. me and her daugher grew up together) is due to get married July which I've known about for quite some time. Unfortunately, my partner is due to have surgery on his knee on the same day. So I genuinely havent got a clue what I should do.
On the one hand, my aunt is getting married and I would love to be there for her special day. On the other hand, I feel compelled to be there for my poor baby! His surgery is supposed to be during the day and he shouldn't be there over night but I can't bare the thought of not being there for him, even though his mum will be there etc... but he thinks i should go to the wedding as its only keyhole surgery and shouldn't be more than a few hours.
I've tried to see if i can juggle both but its not possible. The events (for lack of a better word regarding the opperation) are just was too far away from each other (one is in surry, one is in east london) and i don't drive.
So what do I do? Be the dutiful girlfriend and be there for my partner or go to my aunts wedding and take part in her special day?

Go to the wedding, as the surgery isn't life threatening.
Your boyfriend will understand, I'm not so sure your aunt will.

Just try to be there the day after, or the next day you are free

There's your answer above. Most of us men aren't that concerned with someone being by their side for surgery or something like that. Just hang out with him the following day and hook him up with his favorite food, rent a movie he has been wanting to see and chill.

What u gonna do at the hospital while he's having surgery, sit there and twiddle ur thumbs? I could understand if he was majorly ill and dem tings but he's not and as u said he will have other people there. Go to the wedding, call him after he's had surgery to see he's ok. The next time u see him you'll have some juicy gossip and a nice big slice of cake.

I agree with everyone else...go to the wedding.
(although, knowing our NHS, the op's bound to be cancelled anyway!)

| Thanx for the input folks. I'm gonna go to the wedding and shower him with TLC the next day. Its just difficult cos we're so close and I'll spend the whole day think about him but he know i love him and i'll be there in spirit.

Soulstarr,
Although your boyfriend is getting surgery on his leg , you never know what may go wrong with it. Nothing should come before the life of a human being. You should talk to your girlfriend about it and tell her that you want to be by your boyfriend surgery to make sure that everything is ok.

Initially I was thinking of reviewing your route to go to both lol but if you and he are confident that it will be ok then go with that....enjoy the wedding as much as you can...you'll be even happier to see each other after being apart for that time so it sounds good
