i was telling my friend about a guy i speak to on the net. never met him in the flesh but we chat.
she said im having a net affair. but i dont think so. i have not given him my number or anything like that.
anyway is it possible to have anet affair when you dont link the person
or would that be an affair of the minds
i do have some friends who met guys in person who they met off the net. but i aint inna dat.

you havent met or done anything so no its not an affair.
it IS something you should consider though, if you are letting that person get close to you, mentally, in a way you know is inappropriate (only you can decide) then you should think about it.

The fact that you describe it as a "net affair" already suggests to me that deep down you feel that it is classed as having an affair. Do you, or can you share your online chats with his man with your partner????? If not, then you must be doing it in secret, and therefore in my mind constitutes an affair. No harm is done yet.

I am with Lady on this one. Nothing wrong with chit chat, as long as the 'mind' is in the right place. It would be a poor world if we weren't allowed to correspond with the opposite sex just because we are in a relationship. How far would we take such a restriction anyway? Would it be a sin to find someone other than your partner attractive, funny, interesting?
Naw, not as long as such thoughts do not lead you to a pursuit that is not in keeping with loyalty and trust.
My wife has had more than one male internet friend (as I have had female internet friends) and it has never been a problem. The fact that we are corresponding with people on the net is not something we have kept from each other, but that doesn't mean we give chapter and verse on everything we talk about. We both know the other is friendly and socialable in nature (part of our attraction to each other) so there is no sweat because we chat with the opposite sex (online or in the flesh).
Once you are secure with each other and with yourself, there is nothing to fear. Just make sure that if 'feelings' do start going in a direction you didn't plan that you call a halt before you find yourself in trouble.
