| I only knew about morris-roots when I looked in a magazine at my hairdressers. They seem ok but true say my hairdresser is down the road from me and I'm used to her she does my locks. I got mine washed and retwisted for the second time on friday, it's been 3 wks and my hair is starting to lock already. Everyone loves my hair and I'm getting used to it. The ting that makes me laugh is every morning when I take off the scarf and stretch out the twists it goes into a style all on it's own.

@ Eskay
Did u start locking ur hair at Morris-Roots or did u go somewhere else first? Think I'm gonna try Morris-Roots as well, too much passa passa at my hairdressers, and I'm not happy with the way my hair is lookin right now.

Facetygal.. Morris was the first place I went. I initially twisted on own hair, but its started looking all fly away etc..wasn't feeling the washinh lark ..They are very good. but very BUSY. Just being in the shop inspires you to continue on ya journey as they are so many looks, virtually all the assistants have locks..actually duh..its a natural shop so of-course they would..but the colors, lengths people have, just let you see your future..and I can honestly say it's all good!

| I went to Morris Roots yesterday and was impressed with the speed and attitude of the staff. People were singing and dancing and actually cared about your hair. I drove 2 hours to get there and definetly going again. There are no natural hair specialists where I live. I can`t wait until my hair starts locking and is long enough to do something with. It`s only 2 inches as I cut off all my relaxer.

I started off with very short hair.. maybe two/three inches worth..twisted myself at home for say two months before I realized that I needed some help (the longer it goes the more fly-away-strands you get...they don't wash your hair at first or if they start the locing/twisting process, they use a tonic to clean your hair..so you go back for retwist every 4 weeks.. when your hair starts matting/locing then its every six weeks and that when your hair starts getting washed.. hope that all makes sense.. my hands were always in my head twisting no matter where I was.. now .. its longer, I leave it alone..I've attempted to wash and twist at home, but its nowhere near as pretty or smelly (fresh) like when they do it as the hair dressers..but I'm learning and when I feel brave, I alternate ie wash, try a ting..then if goes wrong i go back..well..i always go to them anyway .. I just don't like going too regular ..as i don't want to be too dependent on them ..and believe you should be able to manage your hair to some degree.. btw .. they have lots of natural hair products you can buy from shop that help with that .. I use their tonic and shampoo...

Thanks for the explanation, I did ask what they put in my hair as it smelled really lovely but she didn`t get round to telling me. I`ll keep my hands out my hair while it`s neat but not looking forward to when the coils start looking messy. Thankfully got lots of head gear on stand by. I `ll keep going as my partner has friends in London and he can visit them while i`m at hairdressers
