Hello everyone,

I wanted to Introduce myself.  I'm sweetshar17  and I'm from Michigan.  I'm just starting my loc journey and had a question.  Is there a difference between dreads and locs.  This is a debate at work and I wanted to ask those are wearing them and not just doing them.

Welcome first of all:)

A lot of people dont like to use the word dreads because they dont like that word associated with their natural hair,so they say locs,I personally am not that uptight about that issue,I have bigger fish to fry,so the answer to your question is there is no difference. Both are just abbreviations of the word dreadlocks.

Rastafarian men greet each other with the word "dread" so if its ok for them..............

When I had dreadlocks I use to call them "wooly attenae".;)
