My problem is with my flatpack wardrobes.  The cup hinges keep coming loose - you  open the door and one of them pops out from the brace bit.  I don't know  how to stop this happening.  I followed all the instructions - honest!  Will I have to take the doors off and get new hinges or what?  confused3

All suggestions, tips welcome.

May be you could explain to me in order to help you, from your description I think it may be better to buy new hidge rather than repairing it

Hola! Que tal?

The part of the hinge that has to be screwed into the brace on the actual wardrobe is the offending bit.  I adjust it and screw it in really tight,  it's fine, then the next time you  open the door it's out again.  Because it's out of a box and it's pine, I'm trying not to damage the door cos it splits easily and you can't buy a door on its' own.  But deep down I think you're probably right about just giving up and buying a new one because I may do some serious damage.

¡Muy bien gracias!,

Ok take all the old hidge out and fix it with new one.
be careful, when srawing the new one in the same hole... try to sraw it in na angle of 80 instead of perpendicular 0f 90 against the frame

Yes it does sound as though you need a new hinge.

You could had followed the instructions extremely carefully, but that does not mean anything if they gave you the wrong tools in the first place, or if the 'instructions' were poor.

Trust, that happens a lot!

Anyway, I have no idea what your wardrobe looks like, but perhaps you could fit a piano hinge, or a flush hinge in the place of the one you have there now?

Perhaps you could try taking a picture of the wardrobe, the recess of where the old hinge is now, then taking it to a carpenter who may be able to advise.

Don't go back to the store, (unless it was brought from a merchant in the timber trade), because if it was  somewhere like Argos for example, the assistants wouldn't have a clue!

But having said that if the product is not up to merchantable quality or fit for its purpose, then you'd have every right to take it back and demand your money back. Might be worth considering, because then you could perhaps buy a ready-made one that won't give you any hassle!

I forgot to add that a butt hinge is usually pretty universal for wardrobes so maybe you could ask for one of them.

You know when you see something and you think, 'how hard can it be?'  I had one of those moments when I got the wardrobes, pictured myself as a flatpack queen!  I'm not too bad, I've put a few things together and this is the only one that's given me the most grief so far....  As for the instructions, well some of those things need vetting by the plain English group!    Anyway, I appreciate the advice, thanks a lot.
