Hi Everyone.

I am looking to get a cheap little used car.  I have been looking around and seen a few that I like the look of but not so sure about which to go for.  I have a totally unmechanical mind so in need of help.

I am looking for the cheapest car with a small engine & low insurance group.  My possible choices are Renault Clio, Corsa, Fiesta, Bravo, Brava or a Punto.  Any other suggestions.  Has anyone had any bad experinces with certain cars?  By the way, I'm on a strict budget and I have a grand to spend at the maximum.

I've seen a Clio diesel 1.9 for £500 - it has almost 12 months tax and test.  What do you think of diesel cars?

Also how much did you pay for insurance when you just passed your test.  Any good reccomendations on insurers.  Norwich Union have quited me £750 for the Clio diesel.  I'm 21, I dont think that sounds too bad ...

I'm not looking to pop style or cruise, just want something to take me to sainsburys and back!

Thanks for the help!

Chika
