| I'm trying to upload an avatar picture from my pictures on my computer but every time i try it says "error GIF, JPG PNG file uploads are not allowed " what does this mean and how do i do it?

Make sure the size is correct and also make sure there are no space or symbols
( [url=mailto:!@#$%]!@#$%[/url]^&*()_-) in the file name of the picture.

when your in the MY Account section
click on AVATAR (one of the green tabs)
then click on browse and find your picture folder on your pc. when i do this my pictures usually pop up straight away
then check the size of the image is in accordance with the sites remit
You can upload an image file from your computer to be used as an avatar. Please make sure that the dimensions of the image do not exceed 150x150 pixels, and the file size is not bigger than 117K. Otherwise an error message will be displayed.
click upload and voila
try it again and you will get there
