I was sitting back this evening and I kinda got thinking maybe It might be a good idea to start a black teachers and Parents forum on here.
It may be slow to start off with but if we could get some publicity it may go some way towards to having some of the best black educators posting on this site here .
We all want our youth to have a better chance in the world today but this forum would be a good place where parents and teachers could come together to discuss solutions and current issues in the classroom today concerning the black child and ways forward to improving the life chances for our youth.
There is much to discuss and young people could also give their viewpoint on this forum.
I don't know what you all think on this but I really think this could work if done properly.
I know we already have a students and educational village but I think this forum would generate more interest if it had a spot all by itself.
Black teachers often get a raw deal but to be able to post on a forum such as this to reach parents in a non intimidating setting and discuss the issues that matter. we may just be able to come up with some solutions.
Anyhow just a suggestion

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I sense a thread that is about to die lmao lot's of views I notice but no one prepared to even say a few words lol.
@Zack I gonna say a few words because it's prob one of a very few you are likely to see on this thread. You see everyone acts like they are so concerned about what is going on in our society with our youth but the problem is the same way so many of us view a thread and don't even stop to leave a few words or resond to a thread on a serious issue. Yet threads such as who Jay z is dating people cannot wait to get their two pennies worth in and post their views. this really worries me.
However @zack I do think the idea is good however while there are no shortage of black parents to post, I do think your'e going to have problems finding black teachers to post on a forum such as this .
It may work if you had a teacher as the moderator for the forum as he/she would be able to pursuade friends collegues whom were black to post.
Anyway hope I didn't sound too negative about this but I have given you my honest opinion I guess thats better than the other 50 or so window shoppers that have chosen to view the thread and cannot be bothered to at least give you their opinion.
I see a pattern on this site of threads that are posted die and in many cases these threads always seem to be on important issues that matter in our community, maybe that is a sad reflection on how some of us are not prepared to grasp and face the issues head on we would rather be onlookers yet the moment Drama rears it's ugly head some of us are in there like a bull in a china shop.
@Zack you are not the first and you won't be the last to experience the dying thread syndrome lol

as a qualified teacher myself in theory i think its a good idea. I know a couple other posters who also work within the education field as teachers or otherwise (Soulstarr and Miss Nellia) The ain problem is that teachers are so busy it is ulikey they would post on any regular basis. Miss Nellia has been MIA for a while!!
Also, any issues parents are having, they would need a teacher familiar with their child/situation. Plus some stuff may be too private to post on a public forum.
That being said, any threads of this nature would probably be best place in the parent child or education village.
So while i agree with the premise of the forum, i feel in reality it wouldn;t really work.
But i deffo agree about teachers and parents having more communication via this site about education issues in general.
I ain't no fountain of knowledge, but i would be willing to help where i can

| Maybe it would be an idea to start a thread on this in the parents village and see how that progresses?
