So I'm starting this thread as a central place for people to share their views and ideas re BNV... obviously we are in transition so please be patient however...that should not stop us TALKING to each other..for our part WE the Moderators welcome all constructive views good, bad or indifferent if it helps us to manage this space more effectively...

So in the words of a certain Football director:'lets be having ya..come on'

btw if you feel shy then just pm/email us instead ok...

I  think the best thing that could happen here is for all to take responsibilty for their own words and be decent enough to show respect to each other. It's still possible to express your views without feeling that a disagreement with your point of view is unacceptable. You can't judge a person according to YOUR standards and because they don't see things as you do. That's like telling them to deny who they are and what they've come to learn in their lives.

Too often I open a thread and get into the subject only half way through to be following what has turned into an argument rather than a healthy discussion. That's nothing to do with the mods. It will be good when the report button comes. When a report is sent will that particular part of the thread be deleted and is it a one strike and your out?

It's good that the mods are themselves and speak up when they need to and I happen to think this place is great. Without it, I know I wouldn't have spoken to as many of us as I have. I'm just looking forward to learning more from and with everyone.

Reading going good. Methinks I've read most of the books but added some more titles, through other books recommendations and referencing.

As you know this is a never ending process.

Happy new year to you and yours also.

You are making conclusions that you actually know nothing about, I never posted but I read Ligali. From the outset people had more respect for the place than they ever did in BN. That was clearly evident.

It doesn't take one person for a thread to denigrate into a slanging match.

But of course you are always right that is why I am and everybody else wrong(again) Only because you want things your way, is it why you harp on about things. Like how you never got checked by the MODS on your wind rush comment. That is hypocritical, you can't complain about one thing and do exactly that thing.

See like I was saying in my original post some people can't take any criticism or opposing views or debate properly so you make silly childish little comments.

In my humble opinion, I think people need to remember that on a forum, especially one as wide as this, every single member can't always agree on every single topic and this includes moderaters. To assume that there will never be any bias from mods in my opinion is foolish. Things happen in peoples lives every day that could cause their opinion to gravitate from one end of a spectrum to another.

As has already been mentioned, if people want BN to be a better place, shouldn't people take responsibility before they post? We should all know what is sensible to post and what will turn into an out and out slanging match. There is always a way to get your point accross without causing things to get juvenile. There are little places when black voices can be heard after all.

Lastly, I think people forget that Moderaters give up their time and energy for free and BN may not be perfect but I think it would be a damn site worse if it weren't for said moderaters that many are quick to attack when things do happen to go wrong. No-one can seriously say that they havent seen some level of improvement in the last few months (minus the time the site was down) cos I cirtainly can.
