Hey! - I am the creator of bornghetto. Actually I expected plenty to say "whats up with the name?!" but the truth is I have had more praise for the name than dislikes.
The reason for the name "BornGhetto" is easy to understand for most married couples or committed couples.
most women and men blame failed marriages on tons of conflicts that route ultimately to the way people were brought up. this isn't the only reason of course but a reason most can relate too.
This is one reason I named it the "Raw" born ghetto. the second and most powerful reason is because we tend to lose names easily unless it has a name thats easy to remember.
I wanted my site to stay with people so they would know that there is a black marriage resource out there for them if they need it. To do this, I couldn't make up some lame name they would forget But something they would not only remember but tell others about because the name was SO different. I came up with BornGhetto and it stuck with me and everyone I told it to. And I hope it stays with everyone you tell it to as well :o)
Thanx for letting me post my message on here, and I am truly sorry if the name doesn't seem to match what the site stands for. But I had to find some way to BURN it into people minds. Black marriages are failing at a very fast rate and I looked all over the net and couldn't find ONE site dedicated to the saving of Black Marriages. So the Name BORNGHETTO is definately doing its job in getting people to remember. I just hope now they come and visit.

I applaud your sentiments behind the setting up of this venture, though I strongly disapprove of the low-aspirational and negative connotations raised by the name of your site....
...surely something more inspirational could have been used?

Where are you based?
My sentiments exactly. I discovered the site a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised, however, I feel the name does have negative connotations as well.

I am very sorry to hear that. I do realize you can't make everyone happy. - Do you have any suggestions as to what I should re-name the site to?
I mean, a domain name is just for a year. Names can be changed, graphics can be altered. If there really is a better name out there that people will remember just give me some. I am not trying to make anyone mad. I am actually in the process of re-doing the entire site. It actually was one of my first big projects but since then I have created a few more and have learned a lot in design techniques. - The new site will have much much more and will cater to people coming together and interacting as well as posting messages.
This new site can be totally brand new - and seperate from my other site.
I would really like to hear some names that you think would better suit such a site.
Also, tell me what you would really like to see in a website dedicated to blacks or black marriages. if its within my grasp, I will try to make it happen.
